Crits and Giggles did TOGC 10 man last night. We had no deaths. I think the longest fight was the faction champs. Kerick and I two healed it and probably either of us could have solo healed, though someone might have died. On Faction Champs, I did almost nothing but Wild Growth and dispels. I won the Dispel meter on that fight handily, by leaving Kerick sheeped for a good twenty seconds. Hee hee.
It took longer to explain Anub than to kill him. We pushed it over to third phase in about twenty seconds. No burrow phase at all. It took a while in P3 because we all had so much health! But again, easy kill.
After that we went and did OS-3D. For a while we were running that pretty regularly, but it’s been a while. Now we hit it with 10 characters, most of whom were fully raid geared. Rev suggested we just kill the first couple trash packs and see what happened.
Well, Sarth wasn’t dead when the first few trash packs hit us, but he died just before the first lava wall came in, and we aoe’d down the trash. Again, no deaths.
I want Damnation, out of Naxx-25. Seeing how we steamrolled this I’m thinking a ten man should be able to do it….
Between our huge health pools and insane dps levels, old content is really trivial. Really, really trivial. But still fun! And there’s some cool stuff in the old places, we saw some really unique weapons drop.
baaaaaaaaaa
I am sorry, that was evil of me.
But it worked ;-p
In retrospect the better plan on Anub is to ignore the adds. Have the off tank tank them and just burn the boss down. We burned the first set and the second set had only just showed up when the boss died. If we had stayed on the boss instead then I think the second set might have never appeared.
I did OS3D (10m) with 4 people in T11 gear just before 4.2, so as long as there aren’t still mechanics to deal with (Yogg), the fights are really easy.
I was blinded for a full minute during faction champs! So lame.
Dude, I totally cleansed that off you three seconds after you said that in vent 🙂
Well, it seemed like a minute.
Part of what makes it so fun is that you can steamroll it and screw off at the same time. Classic raids are really like guild bonding time. We all kill stuff fast and no one is frustrated or tired because we’ve been wiping for the last 3 hours. It’s a good time for everyone.
Who won the drake?
That cheater, Sousa [Troutwort], who apparently has great mount luck.
Mount luck huh…..*grin*
Grats to Trout!
and /sigh @ Slice
I don’t have to use my Green Proto Drake anymore. 🙂
We attempted Naxx 25 with 6 people the other day. We completed the plague wing with 1 tank 5 DPS, and the construct wing with 1-3 tanks, 2-4 DPS, 1 healer. We used 3 tanks on Patchwerk rather than watching Hatefuls murder our melee DPS and my mana, and also on Gluth (two tanks on the puppy, one taking care of the kiting, since we didn’t have any good kiting classes in the raid), and two on Thaddius, though in retrospect we could easily have gotten away with just one and had a melee DPS tank the other wight.
It was getting late so we skipped Spider and Military. I can give you a warning on Raz though: do not underestimate him. The understudies are almost guaranteed to lose aggro on him now, as a side effect of the changes to Heroic Strike in 4.0. His special ability hits for ~100k on plate and gives the tank a -defense debuff so he can crit for six seconds afterwards (unless it’s a warrior tank, lolshieldblock), so treat it like a Decimation Blade.
Saph was easy of course, save that people got a little too spread out which made running for cover a scramble. KT was hard. I mean, it was trivial up until he started ice blocking people, but that ability does something like 150% of his target’s health over 5 seconds. We ended up not being able to down him with one healer, because healing throughput is so low now. I could have done better – keeping Tidal Waves up preemptively, waiting around in Ghost Wolf so I could drop a Spirit Link Totem, downloading DBM’s Wrath mods so I could see when one was about to go out – but the tank wanted to go to bed so we called it. If you bring ten people, I’d recommend having no healers and just zerging the crap out of him. You’ll probably have a couple deaths to the ice blocks, but there’s no other healing worth mentioning at this level.
I was reading your post thinking, “Sheesh they took this way to seriously. We steamrolled that places months ago.” Then I reread the intro. Oh, right, 6 manning 25 mode. heh.
Thanks for the tips! We will have to blast through there again some time.
I’m so game for the 25 naxx. How silly would it be if we got a full 25 in there? 😀
Try two-manning Sarth 10+3. At our gear level we couldn’t manage to just zerg him (dps is offspec for both of us), so we tried it the regular way. You know, killing drakes and stuff. This, Ladies and Gentlemen, is a freaking HARDMODE. It is so godsdamned challenging, I can’t imagine anything in that game is more fun. No, seriously, I really enjoyed wiping on that.
