I've read the Ringo books and if you like them there is a series he co-authored with David Weber that is very good. Book as are March Upcountry, March to the Sea, March to the Stars, and We Few.

Infact if you like Sci-Fi books check out www.baen.com Its a sci-fi fanatasy publisher ahead of the times. They have a free library of e-books to DL in multiple formats. They also provide about the 1st 1/4 of a book online so you can get an idea if you want to buy. They also own www.webscriptions.net where you can buy ebooks from thier catalog for about $6. You can also buy an entire month's release of books, about 2-3 new and 2-3 paperback reprints, for $15 a month, you can also purschase advance reader copies of books about 2 to 3 months before publication for $15 a book, these are limited to expected good sellers.

To top it all off each of thier main "stable" authors' newest hardcover releases come with CDs that contain the author's complete work at Baen. These CDs are free online at http://baencd.thefifthimperium.com. The guy who runs it literally knows the publisher and the CDs are free to distribute, and are designed to get the books a wider readership. You should let Rev know as well as its nice to have a small library to view online while away from home.

I read book one a few years back and it wasn't quite my thing at the time, but possibly if I sat down and read a stack of 'em at once I'd enjoy it.

I do have a pair of John Ringo books (volume 2 and 3 of the "Troy Rising" series) that will be good if they come after Rev leaves so he can't steal them.

And I'm working on Portal 2. Not sure how long that will last me.
