The Jewelcrafting trinkets are random, yes, but they dropped really fast for me once I hit the right level - I got the two I wanted in about two hours while questing, and the other two dropped not long after.

The un-fun-ness of JC stuff is the dailies. Ugh, the dailies... this week I screwed up and did one of the "cut 3 x/give 3 x" dailies... while in a raid group. Wasted my gems. Sigh.

I have 1 enchanter and 6 alchemists.

Transmutation Master is the only way to go. And I just discovered that you can max your Alchemy by transmuting the Ocean gems.

My experience is that Enchant is a "have to have 1" profession. Yes you need dis-enchant so ... ya gotta have one.

BUT, Alchemy is just so OP to play. And squee the new alch trinkets rock. Plus you get so many flasks and potions lying around after you level it's like buff-a-rama for your lowbies.

Just a fun profession over all much like JC used to be - I mean what is up with the trinkets being a random drop??? Ah well.

I did! Where I could use them... unfortunately I usually needed essences and not dust and there were almost never essences... I think I didn't use many herbs, that was a few weeks back and again, there didn't seem to be any of the ones I really needed.

Two alchemists makes a lot of sense. I'll probably keep Invariant's enchanting, even if it is duplicate, because we have everything else covered and, well, enchanting pet. And it's such a nice profession to level, none of these stupid dailies that must be done every day without fail, bleah.

Ah, I see that they changed things - when I leveled enchanting on my mage, you had to get the stupid rod to get past 515 enchanting. Also you'll still need patterns for two other rods but those are sometimes for sale on the AH. Thanks for the comments! And get that priest some fresh air!

Hi. It is possible to max out enchanting just sitting in Stormwind, like my sad little holy priest. You only need the new rod to make some of the new recipes from Twilight Highlands. And you can get to 525 just on the recipes from the trainer in SW. A couple of them are yellow right to the end. She just sits in SW and takes the mob-drop greens from my more adventurous characters, DEs them and Bob's your mother's brother. 525. (Although some of the good enchants are in TH, so if you want to use your enchanter to actually enchant stuff with top enchants, then you will need to get to 84. Enchant!)

I am seriously considering dropping Kerick's mining and picking up another crafting profession, since he's going to be raiding and will never be a tank. (I have a DK and warrior if I want to tank.) I have two other max level miners who can provide him with mats for his blacksmithing, so he won't miss the mining... other than maybe wondering why he never has yellow dots to go after on the minimap. (solution: /cast Find Fish) I'm thinking maybe alchemy. Yes, Kar is an alchemist, but those two hour flasks ... I love them. And he could go transmute since Kar is elixir, so there's that, if I really need to justify it further.
