So my mage, Invariant, is one and a half achievements away from Long Strange Trip. She needs to get transformed with three wands, and get the Sinister Squashling drop. She’s needed those for two years now. Every time I saw the drop, someone else got it. But after last year’s Hallows’ End was when I decided to make the effort to get Long Strange Trip on her. Final, I’m getting close.
And then they announce that the drake won’t give me 310% speed flying, and – the qq in our house, since Reversion’s hunter is *also* one and a half achievements from the meta, the same ones? Oh, it was bad. But I decided not to shell out the gold for the epic-epic flying on those characters until after Hallows’ End had come and gone. The qq would be epic, I reasoned, and for a good reason, and maybe, just maybe, Blizzard would cave. I gave it a 40% chance myself.
Well, they have caved, and Long Strange Trip will reward the upgraded speed (I can’t tell, but it might be for as long as the achievement is in the game, so there will always be a long, slow, cheap way to get the speed upgrade).
Good call Blizzard – it was a stupid thing to overlook when you were redesigning how the super-speed mount stuff worked. Thanks for being the kind of game people who actually listen sometimes when we whine – and don’t just ignore us because you’ve heard whining before.
Now, I can’t wait for the holiday. Hopefully the stuff will drop… otherwise I might be sad after all..
Ugh, that stupid squashling is all that Troutwort needs. I think just about every other toon I have got it, but I could never seem to get it with Troutwort. Though mine doesn’t award such a huge prize like yours, I just get the Hallow’s End title, but still.
Also, keep a look out on the Calendar because we’ll probably set up a “bring your wands” event for the guild to that people can get the achievements. We’ll wait a few days though so people can acquire many of the wands. I know I still have lots from previous years too.
Make sure to warn people to not waste them at the event before they are sure everyone has that kind.
There is something else you should set up. You should put something on your blog that asks people in the guild what reputations they have to exahlted so we can check them off for the guild achivement. Something with a lost of all the reps in the game and we can just go through and check that SOMEONE has each one (no need for 30 people to say they have Stormwind). That way if there is anyone bored in the next month that wants to grind something toward the 55 exhalteds they will know what to work on.
Just a though; maybe you have all 55 already.
55 Exalted? Is that a guild achievement? After the Critty awards are over I’ll have to start looking into that more and maybe post more about the guild achievements. I know we have lots of exalted factions, not sure we have 55 different ones already, but maybe! Otherwise it might be time to start running some things again….Molten Core? Black Temple? Good times. Thanks for the head’s up on that. And I’ll put up the wand event tonight so people know about it. It’s worked out well in the past.
The wand thing sounds really great – I only need a couple for my mage. And of course some luck with drops for the Squashling and Mask..
Yeah, 55 guild wide. which is only 1 less than the number in the game prior to 4.0.3. I think we are going up to 65 total. either way it will be a hard one. We will no doubt get the 15 reps achivement instantly and prossibly the 25 rep one too. Those are some of the few guild achivements that we can toward right now.
