Didn’t down the Lich King last night but boy did we have fun trying. Now we’ve got the rest of the week to learn how to play our classes all over again before we go back and face Arthas.
Which brings me to my question. What – once you’ve logged in, downloaded your patch, realized your addons are broken, logged out, fixed what you could, logged in, pulled out hair, and then made peace with it – what’s your first goal? Ok, also after you re-spec. If you’re like me you just can’t even move out of the inn with your talent points unspent.
So there you are, all re-specced. Now what? Regem all your gear because [some stat you liked] turned into [some stat you don't like]? Buy new glyphs? Install the glyphs you wisely already bought?
“Learn to resto druid” and “learn to mage” are top priorities for me. So is “check out what Cataclysm pre-events are around”. Are the guild achievements going to be live? Because I’d be down for getting started on some of those…
Everything changes today, but the world will look the same. Our content will be mostly the same. It’s just us that change. It’s sort of nice. Let this Cataclysm hit us one step at a time, thanks….
Let me tell you, I’m glad it’s just the character changes today and not the world changes. I don’t think the guild achievements are coming just yet.
For me though, since I have TOO many 80s, I will just take one toon at a time, I’ll log in probably on the scribe (shaman) first. See what glyphs I have and how they have changed, then start making a bunch and send them to all my characters and send them to guildies as people ask for them. No sense in having us all waste a bunch of money on glyphs if I can make them for free.
After that it will be SLOWLY doing talent trees and maybe some re-gemming. And then just playing around on some characters with dailies so that I can see how the new things work.
I don’t use many add-ons, mostly just DBM and NPC_scan, so I should be okay. They added “power-auras” to the default interface, so that will be interesting to get used to.
I stocked up on glyphs I’d need last week when they were selling at 4 gold each. I used to have a scribe but she’s on a different server… ah well, I know who to harass now! And the new guild interface will make seeing who has what professions even easier.
It’s very reassuring to me to know that Vuhdo – my Healbot equivalent of choice – is going to work when I log in. The designer has been very active in making sure of that. Yay! If anyone complains their raid frames don’t work, tell ‘em to try Vuhdo instead.
Hmmm, I’ve never heard of Vuhdo, when I get the desktop out of storage later this week maybe I’ll check it out.
I like it – I find it more customizable than Healbot, without the insane number of plugins required for Grid. I blogged some about my UI and Vuhdo – and there’s links there to other peoples’ setup guides.
Goal one is to get the huntet up, running, and at an acceptable level of DPS for ICC 10. After that… maybe some achivements.
I will flail. Cry for my tree form. Respec and cry a bit more. Then probably check my Grid and my Clique – if they’re broken, log off and play SC2. If they’re OK, heal a heroic to asses the damages.
Log my shaman and respec her too, since our alt Ulduar mount run will probably get more attention this week. Flail, but less since the changes are smaller.
Log on to my latest project (priest) and see how she’s doing. Won’t be so painful, since I wasn’t very good at disc to begin with.
Cry for my tree form some more.
Crud… we should have had a tree vigil last night in Dal. *sigh*
Time to guy buy an argent crusade sapling pet. Me and him will go drinking and raise a few beers to lost friends.
I honestly don’t think I’ll be logging in today. My connection is crap and so my downloader is only at 35%. Going to the library soon to steal some of their internets, but by the time it’s finished downloading it’ll probably be time to go to my night class.
That said, a couple guildies and I have worked on getting a special, griefing surprise ready for any druids who try to do their speccing in Moonglade. (Nothing against druids; just what we have planned won’t work anywhere else). I’ll give you a hint: what we’re going to do requires Neutral with Brood of Nozdormu, among other prerequisites. So, when I do get on, the first thing I will probably do is fly to Moonglade. And laugh really hard. Aaand possibly get a temp ban for organizing this, but it would totally be worth it.
Oh now I am curious. Do tell!
Or wait until tomorrow and write it up.
Ugh, it failed anyway. I thought all of Moonglade joined in on the fight, but the trainers didn’t aggro. (According to my guildies already online; I still have 2% download to go.) Operation: Troll Druids has failed.
I think I’ll write it up anyway though. Good idea.
I plan to make mucho gold selling glyphs
3 more glyph spots * all realm toons * number of glyphs people just “want” = mucho mucho goldage
BTW is your guild looking for more?
Not to answer on guildmaster (Troutwort)’s behalf but they’ve been very welcoming to us and we’re sure we made the right move – Crits and Giggles on Winterhoof.
Hey! Yes, we’re willing to take on new players. Fairly large and active guild. Raids, events, silliness, Paladins and more!
