So I’m a little burned out on WoW right now. I was dallying with LOTRO, and that was fun, but Reversion doesn’t like the graphics so we weren’t playing together. Then this weekend we finally bought a PS3, with the Move bundle, and I’ve been curled up with Dragon Age every evening this week. That plus some personal stuff is making me feel blah about the game. Hence, not much blogging.
I’m really not sure what and where to have my main come Cataclysm. The guild we’re in… well was; Analogue got kicked for inactivity…. we’re never getting a raid slot there. That was never in the cards. And I was getting sick and tired of the endless ragging on guild members, puggers, random people, in guild chat. I’m not sure whether we want a move or just more pugging or what, come Cataclysm. I think we’d be up for the right offer but I’m not sure what we can offer a guild right now. We’ve discussed maybe committing to one or even two nights a week of raiding in Cataclysm; they’d have to be weekend nights and I’d want a mature guild, one that doesn’t find women an obnoxious mystery. And they’d have to at least understand our alt-obsessions. If we say we’ll be there for a raid, we’ll be there. If we’re not scheduled to raid, well, maybe we’re leveling alts. I think that’s fine.
I love Analogue’s tree heals and I’m a little scared of what happens to them come Cataclysm but at least tentatively I’m a resto druid then.ย I want to resto druid, it’s up to Blizzard whether that changes.
Kicked for inactivity?
Women an obnoxious mystery?
What?!
Gah. Good luck with finding a sane and nice place to hang out — I’m sure there are loads and I’m sure you’ll have no trouble picking one out.
I shouldn’t complain too much. It was the top raid guild on the server, we were there as “social” “friends” and they were really good at the game. Just not necessarily great at friendly-ness. On the other hand, they got stuff done…
If you don’t mind moving … you might consider checking out Crits and Giggles on Winterhoof. We have families, couples, altoholics … and still manage to raid, although it is completely optional and no one will get kicked if they aren’t into it. You’re more than welcome to make an alt there and come hang out a bit and see if you like it.
We are potentially ok for moving. Is it an Alliance guild? I must admit to being slightly bigoted – but we’re talking druids here and I don’t want to be a cow.
Yep, it is. We’re not what you would consider a serious raiding guild … more of a social altoholics guild that does raids … but we *have* killed the king … once. ๐
Yeah come check us out if you like Alliance shenanigans! We actually have lots of women players, many married couples, etc. And I boot people out for poor behavior in guild channel! ๐
We’re working up a post on “what we want in a guild”… yay for content! Let me do some snooping on your guild….
Thanks for popping over last night! If nothing else stop in and say hello now and then!
For sure, it was great chatting with you! Might have been even better if I wasn’t in HoR but oh well … it gave you a chance to chat with everyone in regular guild chat instead of all whispers. ๐
Well, I’m gonna try to not sound like a spam recruiter but if you don’t mind moving, maybe my guild Avengers of Azeroth might be what you’re interested in. We’re an alliance guild on Ursin-PVP a US server. We raid, we goof around in vent, we level alts, and more importantly we have fun. We aren’t zomg hardcore and are still working on downing LK (damn defile messes us up so bad) but we’ve been around for 5 years and are still going strong. We’re very alt friendly since I’m the GM and have 12 80s on the server ๐
If you’re interested you can check out our site: http://www.avengersofazeroth.com or you can make a lvl 1 and whisper someone in the guild for more info. Either way good luck finding a new home that fits what you’re looking for.
Thanks for the spam – I do appreciate it. We are definitely in the early stages of assessing what we want – but you’re Alliance, and that’s the first hurdle, and I could go back to a pvp server no problem…
Well I tell you what, if you’d like to email me some of your concerns or questions you have, I’d be more then happy to see if I can help you along. Jedimas729 (at) gmail (dot) com. Like I said if we don’t fit what you’re looking for I’ve done my share of web recruiting and perhaps I can point you in the right direction. Us WoW bloggers have to stick together and help each other out after all. =D
Thanks! I think I’ll check with Rev and try to get a list of what our needs/desires/what we can offer and take you up on that.
Yeah I’m blah too…
And non mature guild drama is getting old as well
Ahh, Meridian. The bane of US-Ghostland’s existence in the minds of many a jealous player. There was such a forum drama explosion when they transferred in it wasn’t even funny. (You guys suxxor and just want to come get 1st server kill!!!11!!1) Ah, the WoW forums.
What is funny is that all this time I didn’t know you all were on the same server as me! (Well, back when I played, I quit a few months ago.) Reading the “About Us” page is far too advanced for me, apparently. Then again, I was a Hordie, so it’s not like we were gonna get to hang out. ๐
Yeah, we weren’t in them on Garithos, we transferred from that ghetto to play with a friend who was in Meridian and he got us in on friends
You’ve probably killed me miserably in WG. Alliance on Ghostlands rather sucks.
Eh you should join me… all my wacky alts are in the guild… 2 of the 6 tanks we cycle through in 25s are women, and 2 of our 10 man raid leaders are as well.
The only thing is that right now we’re still having too many sign ups for 25 man stuff… which I’m guessing will be worse come cata… but who knows. So we can’t guarantee raid spots.
We just kicked a couple people for inactivity – they were offline over a year and we hadn’t heard from them in any form. We’ve got a few people overseas or on a wowbreak so we know what’s going on with them.
As for alt obsessions… we’ve got one guy who raids on 3 servers on at least 4 toons. Our main healer is always and forever creating new alts on the side that we don’t know about. I’ve got alts on a second server that I play and far too many on this one. If you’re on an alt and we have a spot you might get asked if you want to come, but to come or not is fine. We also try to either get couples/family in together or leave them out together [unless they don’t care about raiding together] but that presumes basic gearing requirements for the raid are met by both but eh, we’re pretty easygoing.
We are alliance but our server does not have a great pugging environment at all. Wrath and Retribution – Thorium Brotherhood US
The horde guild I belong to on Ravencrest has as many female raiders as male raiders. It’s a very casual guild which started to raid very late this expansion and it’s reflected in their performance. Players are learning however and I expect they will do well (as casual) in Cataclysm.
But not a good choice if you expect good performance right away.
I organize 10-man raids every Friday evening at 10 PM Eastern and sometimes one other evening. We’re not always doing the latest content as I like variety.
I may be able to recommend an 10-man strict raid on Suramar or Ravencrest when we get closer to Cataclysm release date.

May I suggest you wait until Caraclysm is (almost) released before actually transferring your toons?
Lots of guilds broke up or were greatly diminished when 3.0 was released and the WotLK release date was announced. I don’t know if history will repeat itself but spending real money to transfer several characters at this time is not a risk I would like to take.
If you want yet another alt (and frankly, who does not?), you may want to roll a new character on a new realm and interract with a guild which interests you.
Good luck, and I wish you the best!
Yeah, that’s a good suggestion to wait til Catacylsm is more or less here. More than likely we’d transfer no more than one character each to start. We have to decide about 10/25 raid size, I guess. And it has to be an Alliance guild – if I can’t be a tree, I really really don’t want to be a cow.
Thanks for asking this question, Analogue. I’m in the same boat. Blah Wrath, recently left a guild that was too inactive and unfocussed. I don’t want to log in for the weekly scheduled “raid” and hear, “so what do you all want to do tonight?”
I like my free time in WoW to do what & when I want. But I also want the opportunity to see current content once a week, and have some better players to aspire to and learn from.
I show up on time, and I want to start on time.
And I want a mature group, Alliance only.
Wiling to transfer. If you find a great guild, let us all know.
